Eyennà

"Eyennà" is an amazing song that I've learnt from a music teacher in Venezuela many years ago. The language is unknown.

It's a minor song with a flattened 7th. In the video I repeat it many times because the lyrics are quite tricky to learn.

Suggestions

BABIES AND TODDLERS: This is a great song to learn, sing and repeat to your child when to you try to make them sleep or relaxed. The lyrics are quite repetitive and predictable so your child can follow them easily.

OLDER CHILDREN: In the video I accompany the song with different movements of body percussion, some of them simpler than others. Why don't you try to follow the rhythm of the melody and come up with some movements with your child? At some point I also stop singing and I make just the sounds of the body percussion, repeating the lyrics of the song in my mind. This is a great exercise to do with your child to learn how to listen internally to the music (Gordon calls this process Audiation) and to recognise if you've learnt the song or some parts of it are still missing.
