BREAKING DOWN WALLS

A series of four webinars to create a good environment for listening, self-awareness and cooperation through body music, psychology and Non-Violent Communication.

This series of webinars was born from a passion for research and the interest to talk about strategies to open communication and resolve possible conflicts that can take place in the educational setting or during groups facilitation.
At the same time, it gives you the opportunity to understand some of the body music principles that can help you managing your groups through music and movement.

How many strategies should we have when we facilitate groups through music and movement?

We can really say that sometimes, to manage some groups, even the magician's hat would not be enough, the one full of tricks to choose from.

Do you find yourself in these ideas below?

- I know many activities and games to lead my groups but I feel that I lack concrete strategies to open communication in my sessions

- I like leading groups but sometimes the stress is so high that I'm not sure it's worth it

- Sometimes, unexpectedly, difficult situations arise that I don't know how to manage them; this makes me feel really insecure

- I would like to know ways to include all the participants of my classes and make everyone feel comfortable.

Yes! Difficult, uncomfortable, sometimes even embarrassing situations can arise during our courses. As facilitators or teachers, our task is not only to pass on contents and teachings but also to create a welcoming and positive environment, where the participants or our students feel free to express themselves, create and communicate their experiences.

NEW STRATEGIES

Fortunately, there are concrete strategies that can help you achieve these goals: we can use language, music, movement but also songs, poems, books.

All groups are different and require different techniques, activities and methods in order to better follow the needs of our students. We might think that it would be more convenient to always use the same ideas with our groups but in this way we would certainly not be following and understanding individual personalities and potential.

Also, don't you think it would be a little boring?

The beauty of working in groups arises precisely from the possibility of communicating with others, within a space to share successes, failures, joys and frustrations.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO LEARN TOGETHER?

With these webinars you will enrich your knowledge with ideas, strategies and suggestions to better manage the conflicts and difficult situations that can arise during the facilitation of groups. You will be able to experience new music and movement activities for children, teens and adults to foster communication and inclusion.

Each webinar is designed to deepen different aspects related to group leadership but you can appreciate them even if you are a parent who wants to discover new strategies to resolve conflicts and difficult situations with their children.

Each facilitator will share theoretical elements and practical suggestions to support you in your daily and working life. You will discover different methods and approaches (music, books, theories, practical activities...) to foster communication, collaboration and resolve conflicts and unpleasant situations that can naturally arise within a social environment.

I cannot attend the webinar on its planned day. Can I access it later?

Yes, you can watch the webinar whenever you want, even at night if your neighbours don't complain :) Our course does not include live interactions so you can subscribe and you will find it available from the Monday after the webinars right here on Teachable.

I'm not a music teacher, is this course suitable for me too?

Of course! We all have body music in our blood! Furthermore, to use it to lead groups we don't have to reach extraordinary technical levels but rather be able to understand all the steps to build an activity that works and entertains our students. And you already know how to do it very well, right?

I would like to use body music with all the groups I work with, from childhood to adults. Will I find suggestions and ideas in this course to do it?

Oh yes! This is just the right course! We have been working for years with all age groups and we have discovered some tricks to use our activities with all of them, without wasting too much time and energy replanning your sessions.

I have never attended an online course and I am a little anxious about having to understand all the technical things of the internet.

We understand, we were anxious too at the beginning. Don't worry, Music Tree online school here on the Teachable is really simple and intuitive. In addition, you will always find us via email for any clarification or doubt.

I don't feel very musical but I don't want to take this possibility away from my students. Can I participate?

Yes, sure! The activities are designed according to the step-by-step approach, which is the same that we adopt during lessons with children. We have taught body music to a lot of people, of different ages and backgrounds, so we will slowly accompany you to discover your musicality and coordination.

I am already a professional in body music, what will I learn in this course?

Well, to start you will take a leap into our personal approach to body percussion and circle music, which we imagine is different from yours. We developed it working with people from many different countries and backgrounds, working also with children and people with special needs. We will help you find the theoretical foundations of the activities and we will teach you songs from different parts of the world, with original exercises and activities experienced over the years.
